Our Education Staff

Teachers

Our teachers are committed to ensuring students receive the very best teaching. We value the professionalism of our teachers and support them to teach the WA Curriculum. We want to ensure that what students learn at Piara Waters Primary School is consistent with the requirements of the WA Curriculum, and at any other school, public or private, in Western Australia.

Education Assistants

Education Assistants have a key role to play in the education process. We employ approximately 30 Education Assistants and they support learning in a variety of ways;

    • Each Kindergarten and Pre-primary class has a dedicated education assistant to support the teacher and students

    • Classes with students with Special Education Needs have an education assistant allocated for some parts of the day. This assistant may work directly with the student with special needs, with small groups of students, or with other students in the class, which frees the teacher up to provide small group or one on one support to students with special needs.

    • We have a small number of education assistants who facilitate our intervention programs with small groups of students. This includes vocabulary intervention for EALD students, MiniLit reading intervention, general reading intervention and maths intervention using the Bond Blocks system.
