COMPASS (EDUCATION)

Piara Waters Primary School is transitioning to a new online school management system called Compass Education to manage student information, attendance and class schedules.

Some families will already be familiar with Compass as it is already in used at other schools, such as those local to us - Piara Waters Senior High School, Harrisdale Senior High School and the South Metro PEAC.

Compass allows PWPS parents to:

  • monitor their child’s attendance
  • enter an explanation for absence or lateness 
  • view your child’s timetable and school calendar
  • provide consent for some school events such as excursions and incursions
  • view documented plans / IEPs for identified students (we are progressively uploading these)
  • view information about your child attending the sick bay 

On Tuesday, 25 February 2025, we will be sending out login details and information to all of our parents. New enrolments after this date will receive login information when their child commences.   Each parent will receive this via email. 

Please be aware that emails sent to parents from the front office or teachers through our Compass platform, may contain the ‘compass.email’ domain name. If you are not sure, please speak to your child’s teacher.

HOW TO ACCESS COMPASS

  • Visit the Compass Education website and choose Piara Waters Primary School.  
  • Or, download the Compass Education App from the Apple store or the Google Play store.

Connect

Piara Waters Primary School uses Connect to communicate all important information to parents and carers. It is essential that all parents and carers utilise Connect.

Connect is an integrated online environment developed by the Department of Education WA for students, parents and staff in public schools.

Connect is free and because it is provided by the Department of Education, is very safe.

  • Student School Reports (uploaded at the end of Semester 1 and 2)
  • Notices from administration or your child’s class teacher.

As well as being able to login to Connect on any internet-enabled device, you may also receive notices from Connect that will be sent to you as either an email or a notification on your phone. A free app called Connect Now can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store and will let you receive Connect notices as push notifications.

How to access Connect

When your child enrols at Piara Waters Primary School, you will receive your own secure login to Connect, with a link to set your own password. It is important you activate this password as soon as possible.

In the event you do not receive an activation email please contact the front office.

Navigate to www.connect.det.wa.edu.au via your internet browser.

Enter your username and password.

For parents the username is a computer generated number commencing with a P for parent eg P3498444.

These documents will support you to use Connect, otherwise contact the front office.
