World Music Day - Student busking

World Music Day - Student busking

Wednesday, 21st June is World Music Day. It celebrates music in all its forms, and the importance of music in people’s lives.

World Music Day was officially launched in France, in 1982, and is now a major world event, celebrated in over 120 countries every year.

At Piara Waters Primary School, we will celebrate World Music Day by inviting students who play instruments or sing, to “busk” (perform for up to 90 seconds) during recess and lunch play.  The information poster is HERE.

Year 1-6 students will need to sign up via the form placed in classrooms, by Friday, 16th June or can use this online registration form link.

Students will need to be able to play confidently and independently. If a backing track is needed, please let Ms Thompson know by Friday, 16th June.

Kindergarten/Pre-Primary students may participate in a modified event (no sign-up required), in their K/P play space.
